During the break between online classes, my father entered my study to remind me of my mother’s birthday on the very day. In fact, my father and I had made a secret appointment that we would give my mother a happy surprise by preparing a special celebration dinner, where I would be responsible for doing the birthday cake.
Before carrying out our plan, I reviewed the video stored in my computer which I watched and practised in my heart dozens of times, confirming every procedure of making a birthday cake. Then I started with confidence like an experienced chef in the kitchen.
Our secret between my father and I went smoothly since I had prepared all the necessary materials for the cake days before and my mother as an medical professional was away from home to be on duty during the lockdown due to COVID-19. I did every procedure with concentration, baking, filling fruits, coating with cream and decorating beautiful designs. It was the best artwork I had ever created, smelling of starch and fresh baked cake.
The great moment began when my mother returned home from work. After a thorough disinfection of my mother, we sat at the dinner table, with a lavish spread of dishes laid before us. And my birthday cake was very outstanding with candles on. Besides the dishes by my father, my dad especially ordered a bunch of flowers to celebrate the happy moment.
